SlySi's Cobra (continued)

I looked over Ford and Chev V8s. Looked at Nissan and Toyota as well. The jap motors are very impressively cheap and have a lot of do up potential but I did want more of a traditional power..ie the sort of Cubes.

While the Ford is more traditional I felt the power, weight and tweakablilty of the Chev was more to my liking. Let me say now, I am not looking for a replica. I like the shape so am using it but the rest.. whatever takes my fancy..as you will see.

So.. Found brand new LS6 300 Kw long blocks in Aus for around Aus$6500. Sounds good. 400Hp to start with and can go up from there if neccasary. SHIP IT! While that's coming better find something for it to breath with... and feed it.

Factory image: Received! Brilliant!

factory received!!

For induction I decided a F.A.S.T. inlet manifold and throttle body looked good. The supplier told me I don't need the 90mm or bigger injectors on a stock motor but they were basically cost no more and a lot of other info I was studying said they did add a bit. Everybit counts!

At the same time I got a Comp Cam 228/232@114, Crane dual valve springs, hardened pushrods, Z06 MAF, 38Lb injectors, walbro pump and aluminium flywheel and clutch. (dont want it getting too heavy ;-)

clutch and flywheel

Now where's that body?!
