August 2009 - It's alive!.

Sort of....

You see it start but it wouldn't rev past 1500RPM. Fuel pressure good. No nasty errors showing up. Hmm.

Did some research and looked through the base tune. I had purchased HP TUners VCM Suite so could play with the tune myself. Found in the anti Abuse area it was set to rev to only 1500RPM!! Bugger that. Updated tune. Bingo.
Sorted.. That issue..

Next I take it to Speedtech to run it in and tune ot properly.

They do the run in and call me. There's a noise from the top end they aren't comfortable with. Can they take the covers off and haev a look? Heck yes.

So after they pull a cover the find a broken rocker. The pushrod had ended up seated in between its seat and the shaft body, had worn thorugh it and the rocker had snapped! How?

Nobodoy wanted to own up, fair enough. HAve a spare rocker from last problem, I get the new bits ordered from Patriot Performance. Valve, valve guide, seal and 1 push rod (just to be safe).

About 3 weeks later after chasing it and being told 'don't panic, its on its way'. another coupole weeks later it turns up..Shipping date being the day I chased it..Hmm.

Took 3 delvierys to finally get what was needed. From late September to late December! Grrr. And now of course it's the hoildays. Happy new year! Hehehe
